Mission
2Dto3D is a knowledge based company, which provides scientific, commercial and marketing support to material engineering industries.
We have the following objectives:
- Working as scientific advisors to selected companies
- Supplying technical and scientific support to the development of new high tech materials.
- We propose ourselves as a Strategic Partner for material engineering companies, and R&D departments.
Vision
- To become a fundamental link for the opportunities that could emerge in the field of engineering materials.
- To become a scientific provider of services of research and development.
- To offer innovative materials in order to increase efficiency, improve performances of the engineered products.
- To decrease the environmental impact of composites and engineering materials.
Our products
Carbon nitride
We develop and deliver materials of the family of carbon nitride, which is composed of wonder 2D materials with a many applications due to its versatility and combination of properties (see Fig.1), such as:
- Photocatalyst to oxidize contaminants and colorants
- Photocatalyst to produce hydrogen from water
- Transparent photovoltaic cells (for buildings and cars)
- UV-absorber
- Catalyst to specific organic reactions
- Organic semiconductor to optoelectronics
- Fire retardant
- Fluorescent material
A new type of carbon nitrogen material is under development, defined as C2N.
Its applications are still under study, but it is a promising material as a photocatalyst and electronics coupled to polymeric carbon nitride.
Materials in the battery field
We are currently developing electrical conductive coatings (e.g. Fig.1), among their application there are batteries. These materials can be used in battery electrodes such as coatings of the ceramic materials used in electrodes and electrolytes especially for solid state batteries (SSB, see Fig.2 sketch). The conductive coatings are based on the most advanced new materials with special care to the use of renewable ones and biomass.
Other materials are under development phase to be applied in anode applications such as lithium titanate (the lithium-titanate battery is a type of rechargeable battery which has the advantage of being faster to charge than other lithium-ion batteries) and lithium zirconate to be used as an electrolyte in solid state batteries (SSB) and as an electrode coating in high‐voltage lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), are under study:
- LTO: lithium titanium oxide
- LZO: lithium zircon oxide
