Design and fabrication of graphene/CNTs-based hybrid materials (e.g., graphene (CNTs)/metal oxides, graphene/metal sulfides, CNTs/metal sulfides, and Si/C) and other new 2D materials (e.g., boron nanosheets, MXene nanosheets) as well as their applications in supercapacitors and lithium ion batteries.

Development of nanostructure electrocatalysts (e.g., graphene/metal sulfides, MOF-derived materials) with enhanced performance for oxygen reduction/evolution reactions (ORR/OER), hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and their applications in metal-air batteries and water splitting.

Construction of high-performance all-solid-state flexible energy storage and conversion devices (e.g., supercapacitors, lithium ion batteries, and Zn-air batteries).
