Advancing Battery Safety: SBC at the Inaugural Fire Protection Symposium

The Singapore Battery Consortium was privileged to participate in the inaugural Fire Protection Symposium, hosted by the Fire Protection Association Singapore (FPAS). Dr. Sing Yang Chiam , Technical Director of SBC, took the stage to share critical insights on the safety and standards of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), a topic that is becoming increasingly vital in today’s energy landscape.

During the event, Dr. Chiam also participated in a panel discussion moderated by Eugene Tan, Head of Contract Servicing, Safi Equipment & Services Pte Ltd and joined by expert panelists Ho Victor, Director, HiLT and David Goh, Managing Director, Vanguard Systems and Solutions. The dialogue explored the evolving fire protection challenges in the BESS sector, with a focus on practical solutions and future-proofing.
