2021 was a prominent year for electric vehicles with global demand for EV increasing, Singapore Government targets to deploy 60,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging points across Singapore by 2030. The leading OEMs are now engaged in the e-race and customers are ready to adopt what is no longer a trend but a viable option for daily commutes. The demand for battery also increases with more requirements, shorter design cycle for a better battery performance, maintenance costs, range and life. The goal of this training is to provide you with the background knowledge and skills to simulate batteries used in many applications such as automotive and power storage, and to perform a thermal analysis of lithium-ion batteries using Siemens' Battery Simulation Solutions. Micromobility, including electric scooters, bikes and motorcycles, play increasingly important roles to help cities reduce car usage, tackle traffic congestion and air pollution, and address the last mile transportation challenges. The proliferation of micromobility is not without its own issues especially when it can become a source of fire hazards. In this Masterclass, invited international experts will provide an introduction of various international standards for micromobility e.g. IEC, UL, EN. Participants have the opportunity to learn about current trends and good practices in policy making, case studies, public education, as well as R&D efforts to support micromobility.

Lithium batteries lay the foundation for clean and fossil fuel-free through applications such as Battery Energy Storage Systems and Electric Vehicles. Due to risk of thermal runaway, lithium batteries are classed as dangerous goods in transportation. Shipping them to the customer through vast global logistics chains is often an overlooked subject, and a technical barrier to the international trade of lithium battery. In this Masterclass, participants have the opportunity to learn from renowned international experts about international standards, regulations and initiatives about transportation of batteries and the associated value chain.
